Katherine Hayes received a presentation award at the International Boreal Forest Research Association in August.  Her presentation was titled “Biomass and soil carbon in reburned stands burnt in short-intervals in Interior Alaska” and she presented results from the third chapter of her dissertation, looking at the recovery of carbon pools after multiple short interval fires.  Katherine is a PhD Candidate in Dr. Brian Buma's lab.
