Mammal evolutionary past as a key to the ecology of present-day species

My lab studies mammals as a vehicle for understanding species diversity through time, including questions involved with patterns (how many species are there?), processes (at what rates do lineages originate and go extinct?), and ecology (how do species interactions influence gene flow?).  Using insights derived from molecular, fossil, phylogenetic, and ecological data, we apply large-scale evolutionary insights to modern problems from biodiversity loss to viral spillover.

Everyone is welcome to join the seminar, please complete the RSVP FORM to receive the Zoom link. Forms can be submitted any time before the seminar but not after 10:00am the day of the seminar.
