Leveraging technology to develop novel small molecules to modulate mitophagy in diseases of aging

Parkinson’s disease affects more than 10 million people worldwide and there are currently no disease-modifying therapeutics to slow or stop the progressive neurodegeneration. With the scientific and technological advances of the last decade, we know now that mitochondrial quality control mechanisms decline with age, and accumulation of damaged mitochondria is a shared feature of several neurodegenerative diseases as well as forms of fibrosis and cancer. Even with this strong incentive to improve mitochondrial health, the world still lacks clinically validated therapeutics to modulate these processes. The team at Vincere Biosciences utilizes genetic clues and computational tools to understand key mechanisms of disease and translate discoveries into therapeutics. This seminar will describe our scientific approach, key challenges, and how Vincere’s platform bridges the gap between biology and technology to accelerate drug discovery.

Everyone is welcome to join the seminar.
