Department of Biology
Colorado State University
My lab studies genome expansion and the associated effects on cell structure and function. We focus on amphibians because the clade includes multiple independent cases of gigantic genome size. In this seminar, I’ll talk about our work at the genome level, uncovering the evolutionary forces underlying the accumulation of high levels of transposable elements.
Everyone is welcome to the seminar. If you would like to meet with the speaker, please email Dr. Brian Buma at brian.buma@ucdenver.edu
