Biography
Dr. Frederick Chambers is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver. A specialist in physical geography, climatology, and glaciology, his research primarily focuses on glacier-climate interactions, beginning with his extensive study of the West Gulkana Glacier in the central Alaska Range. Dr. Chambers has a long history of leadership within the department, having served as both Department Chair and Director of Graduate Programs. He is a dedicated mentor who has advised over twenty graduate and undergraduate theses and projects, while serving on numerous doctoral and master's committees. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from Arizona State University, an M.A. from California State University Northridge, and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
