Territorial Citizenship; race, status and limited rights

In this talk, Professor Caronan will discuss early 20th century Chinese Filipino migration, the fate of Filipinos migrating to the United States when the Tydings-McDuffie Act was ratified, the erasure of territorial citizen veterans, and the failure to provide adequate aid to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria to demonstrate the precariousness of U.S. territorial citizenship.
