ESIL is a first-of-its-kind program providing training, internships, and job placement opportunities for students interested in environmental issues involving tribal and non-tribal entities.
ESIL targets students majoring in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) who want to address complex culturally-relevant environmental issues.
ESIL workshops, internships, and coursework provide students with broad STEM exposure and culturally-relevant training in topics such as tribal sovereignty, environmental law, transcultural competency, and traditional ecological knowledge (TEK).
