Please Take Advantage of CU Denver and CLAS Staff Council Opportunities, and Spread the Word
I hope CLAS Staff is aware that they are represented by not one but two Staff Councils; the university wide Staff Council, and (as of this fall) The CLAS Staff Council (CSC).
The CLAS Staff Council was formed to advocate for and promote the interests of CLAS staff through providing professional development opportunities, building community, and serving in an advisory capacity to the Dean’s Office in matters of staff interests and needs. The goal is to promote a positive and collaborative work community. This group, currently in the development stage, will strive to represent the voice of CLAS staff in college initiatives through education, advocacy, and outreach.
- CLAS Staff Council will be holding nominations and elections within the next month. An email will be sent out to the CLAS staff soon with the nomination form. If you or someone you know would like to serve on the CLAS Staff council please nominate yourself or others. We encourage everyone to apply.
- The CLAS Staff Council is now accepting applications for CLAS staff members for up to $250 in professional development funding. All funds must be spent by May 30th, so please think now about how you might expand your professional skills via this important opportunity.
In addition, the university-wide Staff Council is now offering scholarships for staff members on the Denver and Anschutz campuses to attend Human Resources-sponsored classes in 2020. If chosen for this scholarship opportunity, Staff Council will cover the entire cost of the requested training. Applications are due March 5, and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Class dates, times and descriptions can be found here. Anyone with questions should email Jill Rittersbacher at jillian.rittersbacher@CUAnschutz.edu.
