The American Association of University Women has awarded a 2018–19 American Fellowships to Emily Hammad Mrig, doctoral scholar in Health and Behavioral Sciences at University of Colorado Denver. Mrig's research examines the unintended outcomes of health insurance expansion by examining access to genetic testing among women diagnosed with breast cancer. She plans to use this research to inform health policy recommendations that aim for higher quality, more accessible, quitable, and affordable health care.
