Fr. Thomas Curran, SJ is the founder and coordinator for the Jesuit Prison Education Network (JPEN). Currently, JPEN provides college credit classes in 14 state correctional facilities in 8 states and the District of Columbia through 10 Jesuit colleges and universities. Three of the schools provide college classes to the carceral community and Department of Corrections staff. 11 of the facilities are for men; three are for women. Plans are underway to add five more Jesuit colleges to the network.
