CU Denver PEP Advisory Board Member
Prison Education Program

I am a student at the University of Colorado Denver (UCD) majoring in Communication and minoring in Business. Having previously earned my certificate in Strategic Communication through UCD’s Prison Education Program, I continue to support the program as a member of the Prison Education Advisory Board. Prior to attending UCD, I participated in various leadership development programs, completed a 6,000-hour apprenticeship through the Colorado Department of Labor, and the Authentic Relating Course through the Realness Project. I am a regular contributor to Captured Words/Free Thoughts and have been published in Reconciliation: The Final Step in Achieving Non-Violent Social Change and Unlocked Poetry with Professor Wayne A. Gilbert and the Lyrical Vagabonds. I am passionate about using my personal experiences and academic knowledge to help individuals reintegrate into society through Colorado’s reentry programming. One of my greatest joys in life is the time I get to spend with my wife, children, and grandchildren. I strive to accomplish the goals my wife and I share and look forward to sharing my future successes with those I love.
