Lisa Napell Dicksteen holds a Master’s degree in teaching secondary English, with a special certification in working with at-risk students. She has taught in inner-city and suburban schools and helped design the English curriculum for a virtual high school. Since 1983, she has also run LMN Editorial, a communications consulting firm that handles writing, editing, public relations, and marketing, working with clients in technology, fashion, non-profits, education, advocacy, and many other industries. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, For Women FIRST, Newsday, Bride's, and numerous other consumer and trade publications. A native New Yorker, she has lived in Boulder with her husband and son since 2007.
