
After earning his Bachelors degree from Duke University and his MA and PhD from the University of Colorado, has taught History and Political Science at UCD for the past 28 years, specializing in Labor, Immigration, Community Organizing, and Social Movements. In 2005, Walsh founded the Romero Theater Troupe, an all-volunteer community theater that uses the stage to preserve erased history and to promote present day activism and social change. Walsh's research into the history of a 19th century Irish immigrant community in Leadville, Colorado led to the Irish government funding the Leadville Irish Memorial, recognizing over 1300 immigrant workers buried in unmarked, pauper graves.
