Collaborations

CACMS thrives on partnership. Our virtual collaboratorium model allows us to connect with academic researchers, industry, and institutions globally to maximize our scientific impact and resource efficiency. Denver is a “destination city”. We have a world-class airport (IDA) with convenient non-stop flights to most American towns and cities, and a growing number of International direct flights. Our campus is located downtown Denver and a train from IDA to Denver makes travel seamless, both coming and going. A flight map depicts where our collaborators reside. This map includes only collaborators with whom we published; omitted are collaborators with whom we organize conferences, symposia, workshops, book writing, national and international committees, etc.

Local

Hyper-local collaborations, meaning within our College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, are enduring. We, in CACMS, enjoy working together with our colleagues (mainly experimentalists) to provide insights available from statistical analyses, theoretical perspectives and computational assessment, both a posteriori to provide a rationale for an outcome, and a priori, to provide optimal new experiments to pursue. Local collaborations, meaning within the greater Denver metropolitan area, are flourishing. Partnerships with CU Anschutz Medical Campus, NIST, and local biotech firms, translate computational findings into direct clinical and industrial applications.

National

We work with universities, government agencies, and national labs across the United States on large-scale computational challenges. The map of our North American collaborators is available below; it excludes the University of Hawai’i at Manoa for convenience of viewing. It is evident that most of our collaborators are from the American Midwest and the eastern parts of the U.S. To see our collaborators in North America, click the gold link to view the PDF file.

International

We have formal agreements with top research groups worldwide to share methodologies, expertise, and tackle large, global scientific problems. Evident here is that most of our international collaborators are tightly focused in South Korea and China in Asia, but more uniformly distributed throughout Europe and the Middle East.
