Andrew Bubak (PhD student and winner of the Best Scientific Talk category at the recent 2016 Neuroscience Retreat), John Swallow (Professor and Chair of Integrative Biology), Michael Greene (Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director of Integrative Biology), and two colleagues at the University of South Dakota, recently published a paper in PLOS One describing how brain levels of neurotransmitters affect the decisions of pavement ants to fight each other during wars with neighboring colonies.
