I-STOP Study
Inpatient / Intensive Self-regulation Therapy for Opioid addiction and Pain (I-STOP)
An ongoing National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) funded clinical trial based on our successful outpatient STOP protocol that is modified for in an inpatient or intensive outpatient setting. This eight-week group therapy research study uses cognitive behavioral, and self-regulation practices to identify if we can improve pain management and reduce opioid cravings. This novel treatment integrates biofeedback and exercise interventions to help patients maintain healthy lifestyle choices during substance use treatment.
We are currently recruiting for this study! We are partnered with several inpatient treatment centers and are seeking additional providers or centers interested in implementing this research treatment protocol. Our team is looking for participants who are:
- currently admitted or have previously been admitted to an inpatient treatment center or intensive outpatient program
- 18-65 years old
- diagnosed with opioid use disorder and some form of chronic pain
The program consists of 8 weeks of no cost online, group therapy sessions as well as exercise sessions and assessments.
- Financial compensation for all sessions provided upon study completion.
