Kayla was born and raised in Thornton, Colorado, and currently serves as the Business Services Professional for the Department of Political Science at the University of Colorado Denver, a role she began on July 1, 2025. Prior to this position, she worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences.
She studied to be a Social Studies Teacher and, in the Fall of 2021, earned her B.A. in History with a Secondary Social Studies Licensure from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She is furthering her educational journey at CU Denver by attaining her master’s degree in the School of Education's MA in Leadership for Educational Organizations, Leading Change for Student Success in Higher Education.
She loves working both individually and collaboratively to support students, staff and faculty in CLAS and overall at CU Denver. She is particularly passionate about fostering opportunities and engagement within the CLAS Staff, to ensure equity and inclusivity in the workplace.
Off campus, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and snowboarding, as well as adventuring all over Colorado and the country with her fiancé.
