Announcements:

  • Angie asked the council to take turns recording the meeting minutes for each of the council meetings.
  • Erick suggested we make a Microsoft Team for the Council or a One Drive folder for meeting minutes so they could all be in one place to post and reference.
  • Sandra said that she would look at what is already set up in Teams and pass it along to Erick to finalize coordination.
  • Shout out to James for continued attendance and provided feedback – it is much appreciated!
  • Hollaback Trainings – upcoming trainings this Friday and next, don’t forget to sign up!
  • Executive committee met yesterday and plan to meet with Dean Jansma at the end of September or beginning of October to brainstorm additional ways to support staff and boost morale. If there is anything that you would like addressed with Dean Jansma, please let someone on executive council know.
  • Angie will send out Doodle poll for a consistent meeting time for the fall semester. Our current meeting time will be included. Poll times will be for the month of October, but please use it as planning for the fall semester.

WaterCooler Trivia:

The council discussed continuing the Water Cooler Trivia for the staff even though our initial timeline had passed.

  • Currently there are 21 participants.
  • James and Kim confirmed that they had not received an email regarding the Water Cooler Trivia
  • Council members expressed concern that these emails came out around the time OIT added the [External Email - Use Caution] to external emails.
  • A suggestion was made to award two gift cards to the participants – one at random and then another to the current winner. Then heavily promote Watercooler trivia at the Ice Cream Social to get more participants for the fall semester.
  • Elly confirmed that it would be $12.50/month to continue with the discounted price.
  • Elly will confirm the billing cycle, but believes it is the 19th of the month. This will determine the fall timeline – we will restart after the Ice Cream Social (9/20) and then end before the October (10/19) billing cycle.
  • Erick emailed the list of participants to Sandra to do the awarding of the gift cards.
  • The new round will start September 20.
  • The leaderboard will not likely be cleared out, but Elly and Erick should be able to see a difference on the back end.

Ice Cream Social:

The staff council finalized last minute details regarding the CLAS Staff ice cream social coming up on Tuesday 9/14 from 12:30-1:30.

  • Lindsey, Angie, Carri, Rose, Erick and Sulastri will all be present to hand out ice cream during the Ice Cream social.

  • Angie will pick up all of the ice cream bars the day of the event.
  • Angie will also purchase balloons to draw attention to event.
  • James offered tri-fold poster boards and easels for the event to display signage.
