Eligibility requirements and considerations:
- BA or BS (or higher) in a science-related major
- High school and/or community college level teaching experience in STEM
- Track record of building effective mentoring relationships with students
- Two (2) strong letters of recommendation
Candidates will electronically submit an RMSREE Program application package that includes:
- A completed RMSREE Program application form.
- A copy of college transcript(s), unofficial copies are fine, combined as a single pdf document.
- A personal statement (~500 words) discussing your interest in and future plans for increasing STEM content in your classroom.
- A personal statement (~500 words) describing the courses you have taught and mentioning if interactive or experiential activities play a role in these courses. You may also describe any previous research experience and/or discuss specific personal setbacks and/or disadvantages you have overcome to obtain your education and achieve your goals.
- Two (2) reference letters from mentors familiar with the your abilities, interests, and drive to succeed. These letters should be emailed separately to rmsree@ucdenver.edu with the applicant's name in the subject. Please have your writers submit letters by February 10, 2025.
NOTE: The entire application form must be completed once you begin. Please prepare a single pdf file with your responses to the 2 personal statement prompts and a single pdf file with your transcripts. Please email the 2 pdfs in a single email to rmsree@ucdenver.edu with the subject "[Applicant's Name] -- Personal Statements & Transcripts" as they cannot be accepted with the online application.
Applicant screening and interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. Following initial screening, applicants will selected for an interview to assess research interests and drive to increase STEM content in their own classroom.
