Hosted by the History Department at CU Denver, the Historical Studies Journal is a student-run, peer-reviewed digital journal that publishes exceptional undergraduate and graduate research by CU Denver students.
The newly released 42nd volume features nine original articles exploring topics ranging from the role of the 1947 Partition of India in shaping Bengali cuisine, to the history of the banjo and American folk music, to the experiences of Vietnamese refugees in Denver, and activism rooted in CU Denver’s own Auraria Campus. The journal’s faculty co-advisor Xiaofei Gao described the issue as “a testament to the resilience and creativity of students navigating the challenges of historical research and storytelling in uncertain times.” The full issue is available at cudenverhistoryjournal.org, and readers are invited to explore the thought-provoking work of CU Denver’s emerging historians.
