Medical Spanish Certificates and Micro-Certificates
The CU Denver Medical Spanish Certificates and Micro-Certificates are available to non-degree-seeking professionals looking to increase their skill set.
If you speak Spanish at home or have taken any Spanish classes, you must take the Placement Test before enrolling in your first class. Please get in touch with the program director at maria.fernandezmartinez@ucdenver.edu for more information.
Application Instructions
If you are a student attending other institutions or a healthcare professional seeking the Medical Spanish Certificate, not a full degree, apply to CU Denver as a non-degree seeking undergraduate student.
Before applying to the program, you can schedule an appointment with Chuck Kelly in the CU Denver Admissions Office. He can give you expert guidance and help you with this process.
Step 1 – Apply to CU Denver as a Non-Degree Seeking Undergraduate
NOTE: Some instructions may seem confusing, but to obtain an undergraduate-level Medical Spanish certificate or Micro-Certificate, make sure you apply as an undergraduate non-degree applicant. Do not apply as a graduate non-degree applicant.
- Click the gold button below to start a new application:
- Below "Undergraduates," scroll down to the section, Undergraduate Non-Degree Applicant and click the gold button, Apply Now (Undergraduate Non-Degree Applicant).
- When you start your application, select I have completed a bachelor's degree or higher from the drop-down menu if you've already graduated with a bachelor's degree.
- Fill in the Yes button after Are you planning to complete an undergraduate certificate? and select Continue.
Continue filling in your biographical details.
When you reach Enrollment Information on your application:
- Select the semester you plan to enroll
- Select Liberal Arts and Sciences as your area/program of interest and select Continue
Complete all sections of the application to the best of your knowledge. If you need support, feel free to contact Chuck Kelly in the Admissions Office at any time.
Please note: The application fee is $50 to apply to CU Denver as a non-degree seeking student.
Step 2 — Once Admitted, Set Up Your CU Denver Account
Find the email sent to you from CU Denver after starting your application, titled Important Account Creation Information.
- Note the email's username and password you created
- Use this login information for your account to register for courses
- If you forgot your password, go to passport.ucdenver.edu/passwordreset. You'll need your university ID number handy.
Multifactor Authentication with Duo Security
You'll need to register for multifactor authentication (MFA) using Duo Security. This helps keep your data and personal information safe from potential cyberattacks. You can install and register for Duo using the Duo app by smartphone, or from your laptop/desktop computer.
