Hi! I'm a sophomore at CU. I'm currently undeclared but I'm leaning toward a physics major. I'm super excited to help to help y'all learn about astronomy. I found the class really fun and I hope you do too.

I’m a junior at UCD, working toward an English Lit and Film degree. I want to work in the publishing industry when I graduate. My hobbies include creative writing (you probably could have guessed that), reading fiction (also guessable), watching improv comedy (see, I’m not entirely predictable), and planning for world domination (in case the publishing thing falls through). I loved taking General Astronomy, and I’m excited to be back as an LA!

Hello! I'm a junior here at CU Denver, currently working on a BFA in Illustration with a minor in Psychology. This is my second semester working as an LA for this class and I love it so much! When I'm not at school or working, I like to draw, edit, do yoga, and play video games!

I am a sophomore status business student. My favorite color is yellow and my favorite video game (right now) is Elden Ring. I want to play all of the FromSoftware games. However, this is not my main pastime! My main hobby is writing (particularly epic fantasy) and reading (particularly epic fantasy). If you ever want to talk about anything fantasy, you have my email! I also love deep-space astronomy and would love to talk about deep-space Earth-type planets and pulsars! Neptune is my favorite planet.

Hello all! I am a junior majoring in Biochemistry on a pre-med track. I was a bit intimidated going into Physics 2, but I ended up really enjoying it. I also love playing pickleball and listening to music. Super excited to work with you guys!

Hi! I am a senior majoring in psychology and fell in love with physics after taking it with Dr. Gifford. I love to play the piano, organ, and enjoy playing Fortnite. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and working with you, cheers!

Hello! I am currently a junior majoring in Biochemistry on the premed track. I took Physics II last semester with Dr. Gifford and loved it! In my free time I enjoy playing sports and going to the gym. I look forward to working with everyone!

Hello! I'm a junior in my second year of physics courses, and this is my second time being an LA (but first time for physics). In school I love many areas of science, philosophy, and other fields, but I'm especially interested in physics, with the current goal of going into some kind of physics research. Outside of school I love listening to and making music, working on and driving cars, videogames, and being in out in nature. I hope this semester goes well for everyone, and that I can help you all achieve your goals in and out of school!

Hi! This is my fourth year at CU as a physics major and my fifth semester as an LA. While I have a passion for physics, it’s not something that has always come easily to me. I hope that anything I’ve learned can help you through the course and that you find your own appreciation for physics by the end of it. The goal is to help you succeed, so don’t hesitate to reach out. In my free time, I try to be active with hiking, gardening, or going to the gym. I also like writing and playing video games. I’m looking forward to meeting you all this semester!

Hiya! I'm a senior on the biology premed track. I work as a nurse aide and I love hiking, cosplaying, and watching anime during my free time. I took Physics II with professor Gifford last year and really enjoyed it. I can't wait to work with all of you!

Hi!! I am a third year at CU Denver, majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry. Even though my degree isn't centered around physics, I have found a great interest in this branch of science. I have found many ways that I could apply what I have learned in every day life, which I find super cool. I enjoy nail art, k-pop, Taekwondo, and gaming; so I would love to talk to you about any of your interests as well as my own! I look forward to working with you guys! Let's have a great semester!

Hello! I am a 4th year here at CU Denver studying to get a B.S. in Applied Physics and I have 2 minors in Legal Studies and Astrophysics. I am planning on going to Law School in Aug 2027 as well! In my free time I build miniature model houses and rock climb! I took this lab my first year and loved it and I am super excited to share that with you all! I am on campus every day and more than happy to help whenever I can!!

I’m in my second year at CU Denver, majoring in Marketing with a minor in Computer Science. During my first year, I challenged myself by taking advanced elective courses in math and physics, which deepened my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. I’m especially interested in artificial intelligence and how it can be used to support learning and human decision-making. I became a Learning Assistant because I truly enjoy helping others understand complex ideas, and I believe collaborative learning leads to deeper understanding. I'm excited to support students and grow alongside them through this experience.

Jacob Sharp (003, 004)
Hello! Looking forward to meeting all of you. I was headed into my senior year in biology but changed my degree last spring to physics. I couldn't be happier with that switch, my passion for physics and the experiences I have had so far as an LA and TA have been an incredible journey. Good luck and see you in class!

Jazmine Ames (001, 002)
Hello! I am a senior majoring in Biology on the pre-med track and am also working towards my minor in victim and victim services. I was born in Arizona and have moved around from Las Vegas to Wyoming to now Colorado. My ultimate goal is to become a pediatric rheumatologist which specializes in autoimmune diseases, to help other kids like myself! I hope to make the lab enviornment a fun and interesting place to encourage creative thinking and work collaborativley with you all! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Kylee Arterburn (003, 004)
Hi! I'm a junior majoring in biology. I took physics as a prerequisite and ended up enjoying it so much that I enrolled to be an LA. I'm also adding a minor in physics to my degree and thinking of pursuing a career in biomedical engineering. This is my first semester as an LA, and I'm excited to work with all of you on designing and practicing physics experiments!

Lucas Schaab (002, 006)
I am a senior in the physics department, now doing a 4+1 MIS degree between physics and electrical engineering. I work as a research assistant with Dr. Huber as well. Colorado born and raised, trying to accommodate as much time outside as I can manage.

Roman White (001, 006)
Hi all, I'm currently a Junior and took this course last semester. I had a lot of fun taking it, as its a super chill lab and ties in well if your taking the lecture course concurrently. I am currently working towards a degree in biochemistry, and know several of you may be in a similar boat, so you got this! I hope I can help make this course as fun and rewarding as when I took it, and look forward to working with you all.
