Who We Are and What We Do
The mission of the Health Professions Programs Office at CU Denver is to educate and challenge students interested in a future in the health professions to be leaders, visionaries and lifelong learners who will positively impact local, national, and global health on many levels. We believe in building a community in which all people, including those who have historically been marginalized, and those who are still marginalized, can thrive. We welcome and appreciate human diversity and pursue practices that advance equity, inclusion, and access.
Our operation is well-known for preparing students for applications to health careers and acceptance to health professions programs across the nation. Along with rigorous preparatory classes offered at CU Denver, our operation offers exceptional health careers advising including assistance with course scheduling, seminars on application processes, assistance in finding clinical, research, and community service experiences, and assistance with seeking out appropriate references/ letters of recommendation to enhance applications.

Land Acknowledgement
“We honor and acknowledge that we are on the traditional territories and ancestral homelands of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Ute nations. The area on which this campus resides was an epicenter for trade, information sharing, planning for the future, community, family and ally building, as well as conducting healing ceremonies for over 45 Indigenous Nations, including the Lakota, Kiowa, Comanche, Apache, Shoshone, Paiute, Zuni, Hopi among others."
“We must recognize Indigenous peoples as the original inhabitants and stewards of this land. As these words of acknowledgment are spoken and heard, remember the ties these nations still have to their traditional homelands. Let us acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory and pay our respect to the diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land. We give thanks to all Tribal Nations and the ancestors of this place.”
