October 21, 2022: Community-Based Mapping Workshop

Trauma-Aware, Community-Based Mapping: a mini-workshop

Join us as we explore ways to navigate the contours of trauma in community-based projects. We’ll discuss techniques for integrating trauma awareness into our placed-based data collection and visualization processes. Specifically, we’ll ruminate on modalities for instilling consent, choice, and collaboration throughout our work. Together, we’ll learn how to be better positioned to resist and repair harm when working alongside and within communities. Those wishing to participate in the brief collaborative digital mapping exercise: please come equipped with a charged personal device that has access to the internet.

Guest Facilitator: Amber Bosse, PhD, Map Therapist and Trauma-Informed GIScientist of MapBosse Co.
