Before considering ArcMap, please know this software only runs on a Windows OS, available on a PC or on a dual boot on a Mac computer.

To get access to an ArcMap license, please e-mail FAST@ucdenver.edu from your university-affiliated e-mail address with the following information:

• Your name
• The college and department in which you are enrolled
• The intended use of the license: e.g. a specific class (please include specific class) or thesis project

Upon approval, we will reply with a PDF on how to download, install, and authenticate this software.

Download, install, and licensing time depends on your internet speed, but typically takes 45 minutes to an hour.

When consulting our video tutorial below which provides an overview of installation onto a Windows 10 PC, it is important to keep in mind that ESRI has changed their process for downloading and installing ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap). The ArcMap software being provided now downloads from a SharePoint connection the FAST Lab has created which provides the licensing key file as well. Those steps described in this video slide show's beginning slides are no longer applicable. However, much of the remaining slides are helpful.
