Sothary Chea is an educator in Ethnic Studies whose teaching focuses on Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) experiences, cultural studies, and critical media analysis but not limited to. Her work centers on culturally responsive pedagogy, encouraging students to examine the intersections of identity, race, and representation through both lived experience and academic inquiry.

Drawing from her background as a Cambodian American and community-engaged practitioner, Sothary integrates storytelling, foodways, and media into her courses to explore broader questions of belonging, migration, and cultural memory. She is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments that support critical thinking, self-reflection, and community connection.
