Fatima Esseili is Associate Professor in the Department of English and Director of the ESL Academy. With over 15 years of experience in the field of Second Language Studies, Fatima has taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses in national and international contexts including China, Lebanon, Mexico, Qatar, and the UAE. In addition, she has taught various EAP and ESL courses in different US institutions including the University of Toledo, Purdue University, University of Notre Dame, and the University of Dayton.
Fatima holds a Ph.D. in Second Language Studies from Purdue University. Her research interests in applied linguistics include the teaching and learning of English focusing on issues in second language writing and assessment, world Englishes (language policy, politics of English, intelligibility), and intercultural rhetoric.
