Virtual Materials Guide for 2025

DMRSEF takes place in a hybrid format where, in addition to your physical poster board and display you bring to the fair itself, students will also create an online version of their presenatations. This not only allows students to have a lasting, sharable documentation of all their hard work, but gives our judges a chance to preview all projects in their category before meeting students. This leads to more in-depth conversations between participants and judges and lets a wide variety of student skills shine!

Imporant Dates and Deadlines:

Virtual Material Submission Opens: Friday, 1/24/25
Virtual Material Submission Closes: Friday, 2/7/25
Virtual Material Corrections Due: Friday, 2/21/25
Virtual Fair Goes Live: Friday, 2/24/25

For the virtual showcase of student projects, all students must prepare:

  • Project Presentation Slides: 12-page (max) PDF containing all project details that would typically be on a science fair poster.

  • Project Introduction Video: 3-minute (max) video that introduces the viewer to your project. In other words, your research ‘Elevator Pitch’!

Students also have the option to submit an additional Project Demo Video and a single Supporting Documents File, but these items are not required.

Full Virtual Project Display Instructions, including presentation templates and this year’s Display & Safety Rules, can be accessed HERE or on the ‘How to Science Fair’ tab of our website (https://clas.ucdenver.edu/denversciencefair/how-science-fair). There you will also find helpful videos to assist you in preparing your project materials.
