About the Awards

At The Denver Metro Regional Science and Engineering Fair, awards fall under two types: Category and Special Awards. 

Category Awards acknowledge students who placed top in their category. Students who win these awards go on to participate in future competitions like the Colorado Science and Engineering Fair, the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge, and more! (Each year’s categories are adjusted to best reflect the projects submitted to DMRSEF, please note that this year’s exact categories are subject to change leading up to the fair.)

Special Awards come from everywhere, from the local STEM community and science fair supporters to the International Science and Engineering Fair! Many of these are awarded to multiple participants for a total of over 100 special awards!
