University Bylaws

  • Michelle and Kristen went to the last CU Denver Staff Council meeting, Roxy New from CAP presented on Bylaws. Revise bylaws to have more staff voice, possibly came from the outgrowth of issues from the previous Dean (staff would like to be a part of the conversation). Trying to be an advocate for the staff standpoint.
  • Focusing on College level bylaws and CLAS overall bylaws. Put forth an effort to review, and revise to include more staff in these bylaws and staff in decisions. Department level bylaws are also similar, staff not included in bylaws, therefore they have no say. This is a huge undertaking, staff are also not mentioned in board of regent’s bylaws, which can be seen as the end all be all.
  • Decisions that get made where staff need to have a say (budget, chair decisions, etc.) are critical because they impact staff workload and working environment.
  • This is on the council's radar! Use CLAS EDI Liaison meetings to help with bylaws (Kayla).
