Secondary Links are a series of small links that appear above and to the right of the Main Navigation bar.

They can be configured as buttons nested within the Main Nav bar or left as text links appearing above it.

Use the secondary menu as landing pages for your different audiences; or configure them as buttons that go off-site.

Populate the Secondary Menu

1. Go to Structure >> Menus, Click on 'Edit' by Secondary Menu

2. Enter link text in 'New menu item' field; select type of link from Target drop down. Click 'Save'

  • If URL:  on the next screen enter the URL in the Path field. Save
  • If New content type: you'll enter your content on the next screen.
  • If Existing content: you'll be shown a list of all the pages currently on the site. Choose one.

Continue populating your Secondary Menu in this way.

Place your Secondary Menu on the site

You've created a menu; now tell the system to use it.

1.    Go to Structure >> Menus. Click the 'Settings' tab.

2.    Choose 'Secondary Menu' as your source menu for the Secondary Links.

Adjust the appearance of the Secondary Menu

By default the Secondary Links appear as small links above the main navigation bar. 

You can add a label to the secondary menu, or make the links appear as buttons with the main nav bar itself.

  1. Go to Theme/Design and click Configure next to your enabled theme.

  2. Scroll down to Secondary Menu section; click to open.

  3. Set options

  • Label the menu, or

  • Place as buttons within the Main Nav bar; choose button color
