Job Class: Student Assistant I Pay range: $18.29 to $24.00 Starting: September 6, 2024--December 31, 2024 for maximum of 25 hours/ week

 

Job Description: Professor Villano is seeking an MIS student to work on neutron captures in germanium for underground environments and experimental design for the directional detection experiment at UMN. The work includes computations in Jupyter notebooks environments with the Python programming Language. The person hired will perform chisquare and likelihood fits to already existing data and do detailed statistical error analysis. 

 

Minimum requirements: Skill with Python and Jupyter notebooks. 

 

Preferred requirements: Previous usage of the SciCompiler environment for firmware development.
