Dark Matter Cyberinfrastructure Training Material Creation

Job Description.

A part-time student position for the creation of cyberinfrastructure training material is available in the physics department at CU Denver with Dr. Amy Roberts.  Dr. Roberts works to detect dark matter and to build systems that allow everyone to access this exciting science.  This position focuses on developing and testing new training material teaching concepts that dark matter scientists need for data analysis methods, but that is missing from the current training ecosystem.

Minimum Requirements

  • Commitment to creating a welcoming and equitable lab environment

  • Available a minimum of 5 hours/week every week of the semester

  • Must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program and registered for at least one credit

  • Prior experience or willingness to learn and become fluent in version control

  • Dedication to creating, testing, and improving technical documentation

  • Interest in collaborative work with other people 

Preferred Requirements

  • Some experience with data analysis

  • Some experience with python

Student pay category and salary range.

This position is a Student Research Assistant position.  The expected salary is $18.29/hour, which is the Denver minimum wage.

Start and end date.

This position will start immediately and end on the grant end date, July 1, 2024.
