Vaccum Deposition Systems Control

Job Description: Design and implement control system for vacuum deposition process for nanoscale superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs). Control system is to include capability of switching between manual and automatic deposition modes, and include interlocks for pressure and flow. Control will be predominantly manual but may include simple electronic logic as appropriate. Produce written report on the results. Attend group meetings and perform other relevant tasks (e.g. specifying and ordering components) as assigned.

Job Class: Student Assistant Level # III Pay Range: $17.29 (whatever the minimum is for this Job Class)

Minimum Requirements: 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA Availability for weekly group meetings, presently 12:30-1:30 PM every Monday Minimum 8 hr/week availability Contingent upon receipt of work-study funding Preferred Requirements Cumulative GPA greater than 3.5 Experience with analog electronics and/or high-performance sensors Experience with basic test and measurement instrumentation (function generator, oscilloscope) Experience with FFT spectrum analyzer Experience with operation of superconducting devices Up to 15 hr/week availability
