AMOS Gateway Student Developer

Pay Range $18.20-$19.16/hr

Starting August 28th – Ending December 15th

For a maximum of 10 hours per week

Job description: The Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics Theory group seeks an undergraduate student with strong computational skills to support the AMOSGateway project. The AMOSGateway seeks to provide a full-scope platform for AMOS researchers and educators, providing them access to pre-compiled software suites with user-friendly interfaces, tutorials and example input decks, resources on national-tier supercomputers, and educational materials they can incorporate into their teaching. The student will gain experience in deploying software suites on different supercomputers, the creation of controller scripts on these machines, developing interfaces for said software on the AMOSGateway, and thorough testing and troubleshooting. The student may also be involved in communications with other researchers who are interested in deploying their software on the AMOSGateway.

Minimum requirements: prior experience with LINUX / UNIX environments, programming / software development, interest in high-performance computing.

Preferred requirements: experience with BASH scripting, JSON, UI / UX design. Written and oral communication skills
