Jim enjoys helping students learn math and helping teachers understand how to facilitate
mathematical learning in their classrooms. He is now Emeritus Professor in the Department of
Mathematical and Computer Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he
taught mathematics courses for future teachers for 32 years.

These days, during the summer, he delights in sailing, kayaking and playing tuba at the Arvada Farmers Market. In the winter, you
can find him on the Frisco Nordic trails when he is not silversmithing or playing Dobro.
