Patrick Dodge is Associate Professor CTT in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado Denver | International College Beijing. His research interests focus on culture, communication, media, and rhetoric in intercultural, cross-cultural, and US-China contexts. Patrick is editor of Communication Convergence in Contemporary China: International Perspectives on Politics, Platforms, and Participation (Michigan State University Press, 2020), has published in journals such as the Chinese Journal of Communication, Journal of International & Intercultural Communication, Intercultural Communication Studies, and Women & Language, and serves on the editorial board of Journal of International & Intercultural Communication and Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies. He is currently serving a two-year term (2020-2022) as the President of the Association for Chinese Communication Studies. He was awarded ICB's "Excellence in Teaching Award" in 2013 and 2020. In 2018 he was the inaugural fellow for the NCA-CUC Visiting Fellows Program for Communication and Media Research. He has worked with the National Communication Association and Communication University of China to co-organize several international conferences hosted in China (2016, 2018, 2021), and with the NCA and Shenzhen University in 2019. He has been teaching at our ICB program since 2007.
