Vanessa Michaels has worked at the University of Colorado on both the Denver and Boulder campuses in various student facing roles since 2013. She joined the CLAS Advising Office in May of 2018 and is passionate about helping students think critically about their academic and personal circumstances, creating short and long-term goals, providing academic skill coaching, exploring career and major options, and referring students to campus support services. Vanessa received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Psychology from Portland State University and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from the University of Colorado Denver.  

In her spare time, Vanessa loves to cook, travel, spend time with her cat and live a healthy and active lifestyle. On an average weekend, you’ll find Vanessa reading a book on her patio, thrift shopping, and hosting friends for dinner.
