Carol is proud to call Pueblo, Colorado her hometown.  She is a first generation college students and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Recreation and Behavioral Sciences from the Colorado State University Pueblo (formerly University of Southern Colorado) and her Master of Education in Counseling from the University of San Diego.  Carol’s passion for working with college students began as an undergraduate student after establishing mentorships with faculty, academic advisors, and campus administrators. 

Carol’s higher education career has progressed through 30 years within public and private universities at the University of Chicago, Colorado State University Pueblo (formerly University of Southern Colorado) and University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver).  Each professional experience has been centered on empowering and supporting undergraduate students’ engagement, success and degree completion. 

Carol’s mission since July 2002 has been to lead the CLAS Academic Advising to the next level of excellence in service to students and to implement an effective advising system and programs that are the model for the campus and within the academic advising field.  Carol is honored to work alongside the most dynamic team of academic advising professionals.  Carol is inspired every day by the genuine passion and commitment her team demonstrates for students. 

Outside of CU Denver, Carol enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, accomplishing a shared goal with her husband to visit all the major league baseball stadiums, staying active and fit, and maintaining her passion for dance with Zumba and being a forever dance Mom as she support her daughter’s coaching career.
