Hartnett on Dangerous Conversations
On January 24th, Stephen John Hartnett, professor and chair of communication, was the invited guest for a one-hour interview on the “Dangerous Conversations” radio program, hosted by Scott Ledger and broadcast online on the Radio network. The show addressed the prison-industrial complex, the drug war, and practical routes toward reclaiming democratic practices from mass incarceration, institutionalized poverty, and a culture of despair. Hartnett was also promoting his new book, the edited collection Working for Justice: A Handbook of Prison Education and Activism (University of Illinois Press, 2013).
