Communication at ICB held Intercultural Communication and Diversity and Inclusion Workshop
The Department of Communication at the International College Beijing hosted a U.S.-China Intercultural Communication & Diversity and Inclusion Workshop last month. Instructor Supriya Karudapuram planned and organized the workshop and presented on, “Self-Inventory: Reflecting upon the National and Cultural Self (cultural orientation differences, uncertainty reduction, stress-adaptation-growth dynamic, mindfulness).” Dean Argus provided introductory remarks, and associate chair and assistant professor Patrick Shaou-Whea Dodge presented, on “Co-creating a Safe, Inclusive, and “Harmonious” Classroom.” Rounding out the event instructor Jared Woolly presented on, “Comparative Perspectives on Social Class and Bridging Differences,” and instructor Kirsten Lindholm presented on “Discriminatory Silence and Pejoratives.”
