Anthropology welcomes Thayer

Zaneta Thayer will be joining the Anthropology Department this spring as a new assistant professor.  Thayer comes from Northwestern University and spent part of this past fall in New Zealand where she gave seven talks to various health, scientific, and academic groups and presented a paper at the Otago International Health and Research Network. The talks were a mechanism for outreach to share results from her research, which focuses on environmental contributors to human population variation, with a particular emphasis on evolutionarily novel sources of stress, such as those resulting from social and economic inequalities. In addition Thayer presented three conference papers in November.
