A. Diann Logan, an instructor in the Communication Department, is also an award-winning quilter. She has a piece included at "Quilts At The Capital," which opened Friday, Jun. 10, and hangs for most of the summer. Her work is entitled "Cicada," which, she notes, "of course, is about how exterior appearances, like the dull brown shell of the bug, don't always tell the whole story."
Addison elected Chair of Faculty Assembly
Joanne Addison, associate professor in the department of English and vice chair of the University of Colorado Denver Faculty Assembly, won election as secretary of Faculty Council for 2012-2013. Faculty Council recognized its annual award winners and elected new officers at the April 26 meeting.
Alcott presents during Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association Convention
Assistant professor of French, clinical teaching track (C/T), Linda Alcott presented on contemporary Haitian born francophone women writers at three conferences over the course of this semester. The first presentation was at the 70th Annual South Central Modern Language Association Conference held in New Orleans, Louisiana, Oct. 3-5 of the paper titled “Haitian Ghetto Dreams: Identity and Illusion in Emmelie Prophète’s Impasse Dignité.”
